How Much Should You Actually Spend on Facebook Ads?

Hi,
It’s Eric.
If you’re thinking about running Facebook or Instagram ads… or maybe you’ve already been running them and want more results, this is for you.
Here’s a general rule that most people never hear when they first jump into Meta ads:
…it’s not about how much you spend
…it’s about what the spend brings back.
That’s the real metric.
Now, if you’re just getting started, or you’ve been at it for a while and feel like it’s just not “clicking yet” - here’s a general rule of thumb:
You need solid tracking. Basically, you need to…
Know how much it costs to get one new customer or lead.
Know how much each lead brings in.
Know how much each campaign is doing.
When you have that kind of clarity, everything else gets easier. You can look at your ad results and know instantly if is working or not.
No guess work.
No stress.
All of that is well and good, buuuuuuuut here’s a common trap that people fall into:
Most advertisers don’t give new facebook ads enough ad spend to see whether or not they can be successful.
The real question is: What are you willing to spend to acquire a new customer?
So let’s reframe the whole thing.
Instead of asking: “How much should I spend?”
Ask: “How much am I willing to spend to get one paying customer?”
If your ads are bringing in more than they’re costing? You’re winning.
But the mindset is always...
Put $1 in... get $2 out.
That’s the whole game.
Talk soon,
Eric
